How to View Warehouse Inventory

How to View Warehouse Inventory

Objective

To enable users to view real-time stock for any warehouse or all warehouses in ManufApp, across different categories like Raw Material, WIP, FG, Kits, Rejected, Scrap, SO Inventory, and Consumables.
This helps teams quickly identify shortages, blocked/reserved stock, and stock valuation for effective decision-making.

🔎  For a quick overview, see: Why Booking of Inventory is Useful

Steps

  1. Open the page

    • Go to Inventory → Warehouses.

  1. Choose the warehouse

    • Use the dropdown at the top-left.

    • Pick All Warehouses (consolidated) or a specific unit (e.g., Unit-1, Unit-2, Packaging Warehouse).

    • Use the search inside the dropdown if needed.

  1. Pick the inventory category (tab)

    • Tabs: Raw Material, WIP, FG, Kit, Rejected, Scrap, SO Inventory, Consumables.

a) Raw Material (RM)

What it shows: All purchased/base materials used in production (sheets, coils, resins, fasteners, etc.).
When to use: Store/Purchase teams checking availability, shortages, or POs “on the way.”

How to read key columns

  • Current Stock = total RM in the warehouse.

  • Booked = reserved for WOs/SOs (not free).

  • On Hand = free to use (Current – Booked).

  • Ordered = open POs not received yet (often clickable to view PO/GRN detail).

  • Reorder Level / Max Level = stocking thresholds (use the chips “< Reorder Level”, “> Max Level” to filter quickly).

Typical actions: identify shortages, plan purchases, drill into an item to see lots/batches and movements.

b) WIP (Work-in-Process)

What it shows: Items currently in production or semi-finished subassemblies.
When to use: Planning/Production to see what’s mid-process or at subcontractors.

Extra columns you’ll notice

  • Subcon Qty = quantity currently at subcontractors (job-work).

  • Booked / On Hand still apply (reserved vs. available WIP).

  • Net Qty = effective usable WIP after reservations.

Typical actions: check where WIP is piling up, confirm availability to continue downstream processes, review subcontracting balances.

c) FG (Finished Goods)

What it shows: Sale-ready finished goods.
When to use: Dispatch/Sales to see what’s ready vs. reserved for customers.

How to read

  • Booked here usually means allocated to SOs/dispatch plans.

  • On Hand is what you can ship immediately.

  • Value / Reorder Level help you keep the right FG buffer.

Typical actions: confirm dispatch readiness, spot shortages against demand.

d) Kit

What it shows: Pre-bundled sets/kits (e.g., packing kits, service kits).
When to use: Packaging/Stores teams validating kit availability.

Notes: Kit stock depends on the availability of its components; some sites enable backflush/auto-build kit quantities.

Typical actions: verify kit counts before packing/dispatch

e) Rejected

What it shows: Items that failed QC (IQC/IPQC/PDI).
When to use: Quality/Stores to manage holds, rework, RTV (return-to-vendor).

How to read

  • Rejected Qty = non-conforming stock parked here.

  • Item Type indicates RM / WIP / FG rejection.

  • Summary / Detailed View toggle lets you roll-up or expand item lines.

Typical actions: trigger rework, raise RTV, analyze rejection impact (quantity/value).

f) Scrap

What it shows: Recorded production scrap (metal off-cuts, plastic scrap, etc.).
When to use: Finance/Stores for valuation and disposal planning.

How to read

  • Usually simpler columns (Scraped Qty, Value).

  • Helps reconcile waste vs. standards.

Typical actions: plan scrap sale, audit scrap trends.

g) SO Inventory

What it shows: Stock reserved/blocked for specific Sales Orders.
When to use: Sales/Dispatch to see reservation status per SO.

How to read

  • SO column displays the order number linked to that reservation.

  • Quantity = amount locked for that SO (not available to others).

  • Use See More to view line-level reservation details.

Typical actions: confirm allocations before dispatch, re-assign reservations if priorities change.

h) Consumables

What it shows: Indirect materials (oils, chemicals, PPE, blades, etc.).
When to use: Maintenance/Stores to keep shop-floor supplies healthy.

How to read

  • Same stock columns; Purchase Unit toggle is useful (e.g., drums vs. liters).

  • Reorder levels are often crucial here due to frequent usage.

Typical actions: replenish frequently used items, prevent line stoppages due to missing consumables.

Conclusion

The Warehouse Inventory view in ManufApp gives a single, real-time dashboard of stock across all categories and warehouses.
It helps:

  • Stores & Purchase teams manage RM and Consumables.

  • Planning/Production teams monitor WIP progress.

  • Sales/Dispatch teams confirm FG/SO inventory.

  • Quality/Finance teams track Rejected and Scrap.

With category-wise tabs, warehouse filters, and real-time values, teams gain complete visibility to make faster, more accurate inventory decisions.
