Record Production Through Serial Entry and Print Labels in Work Centre

Objective

This guide explains how to use Serial Entry in the Work Centre screen to:

  • View selected job and item details

  • Select the operator recording production

  • Check available input material

  • Enter production quantity

  • View generated production logs and Lot IDs

  • Print labels for the recorded production entry


Go to:

Production → Work Centre

Select the required machine, Sales Order / Work Order and item. Open the Production tab, then click Serial Entry.


Step 1: Open Serial Entry

  1. Select the required machine.

  2. Select the required Sales Order / Work Order.

  3. Select the item for which production needs to be recorded.

  4. Click Serial Entry.



Step 2: Understand the Serial Entry Screen

The Serial Entry screen shows all information required to record production for the selected item.

A. Selected Machine and Order Details

At the top of the screen, the following details are visible:

Machine on which production is being recorded

Shift

Shift name and timing

Sales Order /Work Order


Exit Serial Entry

Selected production job reference


Option to close Serial Entry mode

  • Machine: Jindal Paper Cutting Machine

  • Shift: General (08:30 - 17:30)

  • Sales Order: SOL Fa/2604/003


B. Selected Item and Production Quantity Summary

The selected item and its production progress are shown at the top.

C. Production Entry Section

The Production section is used to enter the quantity produced during the current activity.

Shows the production unit, such as kilogram

Auto Fetch

Fetches the applicable quantity automatically, where used

Submits the production quantity

Last Production Entry

Shows the date and time of the latest recorded production entry


D. Input Materials Section

The Input Materials section displays material available for producing the selected item.

The Scan option can be used where material selection is performed through scanning.

The Inventory dropdown indicates the inventory source being viewed, such as Warehouse.


E. Production Logs Section

The Production Logs section shows all production quantities recorded for the selected item.

Rejected quantity, if any

Label printing option for the production entry

The Print All option can be used to print labels for all listed production entries.


Step 3: Select the Operator

Before recording production, select the operator from the dropdown at the top-right side of the screen.

Steps

  1. Click the Select Operator dropdown.

  1. Search or select the required operator name.

  2. Confirm that the selected operator is visible in the dropdown.

The production entry recorded after selection will appear against this operator in the Production Logs table.



Step 4: Enter Production Quantity

In the Production section, enter the quantity produced.

Steps

  1. Enter the produced quantity in the quantity field.

  2. Check the unit displayed beside the field.

  3. Click Enter to record the production.

Example

Quantity Entered: 20 kilogram


Step 5: View Generated Production Lot ID

For every production entry, the system generates a production Lot ID in the Production Logs table.

This Lot ID identifies the production entry and can be used for traceability and label printing.

Step 6: Print Label

After the production entry is created, a label can be printed for the generated production lot.

Steps

  1. Locate the required Lot ID in the Production Logs table.

  2. Click Print Label against that row.

  3. Print the label for the selected production lot.

To print labels for all production entries shown in the table, use the Print All option.


Important Points

  • Select the correct Sales Order / Work Order and item before opening Serial Entry.

  • Select the correct operator before entering production quantity.

  • Check the required, produced and remaining quantity before recording production.

  • Verify input material availability before continuing production.

  • Each submitted production entry generates a separate Lot ID.

  • Use Print Label for a specific production entry and Print All when labels are required for all listed entries.


Conclusion

The Serial Entry option in the Work Centre allows users to record production quickly against the selected Sales Order or Work Order item. It provides visibility of required quantity, produced quantity, remaining quantity, input material availability and production logs. Once production is entered, the system generates a Lot ID and allows the user to print the required production label.
