How to Create an Item Group in ManufApp

An Item Group helps you organize products with common properties (like raw materials, WIP, or finished goods).
It also lets you define attributes (e.g., color, size) and optionally set rules for automatic naming and sizing.


Step 1: Go to the Item Group Section

Navigate to:
Masters  > Items
Click + NEW to create a new item group.







Step 2: Fill Basic Details

  • Title – e.g., Shirt

  • Item Type – Choose from RM, WIP, FG

  • Unit – e.g., pieces, kg, etc.

  • Site – Select the relevant factory/site


 Step 3: Add Attributes

Click Add Attribute and enter key attributes.
Example for a shirt:

  • COLOR

  • Material

  • Size

You can add as many attributes as needed.


Step 4: Optional Settings

Tick the following as per your needs:

  • Mandatory Expiry Date – For items with a shelf life

  • Set Nomenclature – To auto-generate item names/codes

  • Sizing Configurations
    ✅ Skip for items like shirts
    ✅ Use for items like sheets (Length × Width × Thickness × Density)




Step 5: Configure Nomenclature (if enabled)

  • Code Prefix – e.g., SHT

  • Name Prefix – (Optional)

  • Name Sequence – Arrange attribute order

  • Name Separator – e.g., -, /

  • Name Preview – Shows final format


Step 6: Submit

Click Submit to save the group.
Your new item group will now appear in the list with its attributes and configurations.
