How to Configure Sales Order Line Custom Fields

Objective:

Configure item-level fields inside Sales Order such as GST, HSN, Discount, Net Amount, Total with GST, and Remarks using default recommended commercial fields or custom additions.


Step 1: Open Custom Fields

Go to:
Masters → Custom Fields


Step 2: Select Sales Order – Line Custom Fields

From the list, open:
Sales Order – Line Custom Fields


Step 3: Understand Default Fields

By default, system provides basic fields:

Quantity
Price per unit
Total Price

These are standard system fields already available.


At the top, click:
Add Recommended Fields

This automatically adds commonly used commercial fields like:

GST (%)
HSN
Discount (%)
Net Amount
Total with GST

This is the fastest setup for standard sales calculations.


Step 5: Configure Each Field

You can customize field type, subtype, visibility, and calculations.

Example:
Remarks → Text


Step 6: Configure Visibility

Enable fields as needed:

Show in Form
Show in Table
Show in PDF Table
Show Field Total ✔ (for amount columns)


Step 7: Submit Configuration

Click Submit


Final Output in Sales Order

Go to:
Orders → Sales Order → Add New

Now each item row can include:

Quantity
Price per unit
GST (%)
HSN
Discount (%)
Net Amount
Total with GST
Remarks


Conclusion

Sales Order – Line Custom Fields already includes default core fields like Quantity, Price per Unit and Total Price.

You can quickly expand this using Add Recommended Fields for standard commercial setup or manually add your own fields based on business needs.

This helps standardize item-level pricing, taxation, calculations, and documentation directly inside Sales Orders.
