How to Add Meta Values in Sales Order Header Custom Fields
Objective:
Create Sales Order header custom fields and add dropdown options (meta values) for List Fields like Payment Terms or Mode of Transportation.
Step 1: Open Custom Fields
Go to:
Masters → Custom Fields
Step 2: Create New Field Group
Click + New
In Action, select:
Sales Order – Header Custom Fields
Step 3: Add Required Fields
Enter the field details:
Example:
Field Name: Mode Of Transportation
Field Type: List Field
Field Name: Payment Terms
Field Type: List Field
Field Name: Transporter Name
Field Type: Text Field
Enable as needed:
Show in Form ✔
Mandatory ✔
Show in Table ✔
Step 4: Add Meta Values / Dropdown Options (Important)
For every List Field, click the ⓘ Info Button under Actions.
Example:
Click ⓘ beside Payment Terms
A popup will open: Add details to Payment Terms
Step 5: Enter List Options
In the Options box, type each value and press Enter after each one.
Example: Payment Terms
100% Advance
30 Days Credit
45 Days Credit
60 Days Credit
7 Days Credit
15 Days Credit
90 Days Credit
Example: Mode Of Transportation
Road
Air
Rail
Courier
Hand Delivery
Each value will be saved as a selectable dropdown option.
Step 6: Save Meta Values
Click Done
Step 7: Submit Field Group
Click Submit on the main page.
Final Output in Sales Order
Go to:
Orders → Sales Order → Add New
Now these fields will appear in Sales Order Header:
Mode Of Transportation: Dropdown
Payment Terms: Dropdown
Transporter Name: Manual Text Entry
