How to Add a New Critical to Quality (CTQ) Parameter in ManufApp

How to Add a New Critical to Quality (CTQ) Parameter in ManufApp

CTQ parameters help define inspection rules for key product characteristics (e.g., weight, dimensions). Adding them ensures quality checks are consistent and measurable across inspections.

Step 1: Navigate to the Quality Module

  • Go to the top menu and click:
    Masters โ†’ Quality

Step 2: Open the โ€œCritical to Qualityโ€ Tab

  • Under the Quality Issues page, click the "Critical To Quality" tab to view existing CTQ parameters.

Step 3: Click on โ€œ+ Newโ€

  • Click the + NEW button on the right side of the page to start creating a new Critical to Quality parameter.

Step 4: Fill in Critical to Quality Details

In the Add New Critical to Quality form:

  • Label: Enter the name of the parameter (e.g., Weight in kg).

  • Type: Choose from Range, Dropdown, or Numeric.

  • Rejection Reason: Select a predefined reason like Inspection.

  • Unit: Enter the measurement unit (e.g., kg).

  • Item Tags: Tag the relevant item(s) or group(s).

  • Min / Max: Define the acceptable range of values.

  • You can also mark it as:

    • Mandatory: If it must always be checked

    • Observation: If itโ€™s for data capture only

Step 5: Click Submit

  • Once all fields are filled, click the Submit button to save the CTQ parameter.

โœ… Done!

Your new CTQ parameter is now active and will be available during quality checks (like IQC or in-process inspections) for the tagged items.
