What is Re-Parenting in ManufApp?

Re-Parenting in ManufApp refers to the process of changing the parent machine or group under which a machine is assigned.
It is typically used to reorganize the machine hierarchy to reflect changes on the shop floor — such as relocating a machine to a different department, production line, or work center.

This ensures that the system accurately mirrors the physical setup, improving operational clarity, traceability, and reporting accuracy.

 Example of Re-Parenting

Before:

Welding Section (Parent)

└── MWIP-10 (Child)

Now, due to a layout change, MWIP-10 is moved to the Finishing Section.
To reflect this change in ManufApp, you would re-parent it:

After:

Finishing Section (New Parent)

└── MWIP-10 (Child)

Keeping your machine hierarchy aligned with the real-world layout enables better traceability, job assignment, and section-wise reporting.
