How to Update UOM at Item Level
🎯 Objective
Allow users to set or change the Unit of Measurement (UOM) directly at the item level instead of depending only on the group UOM.
Step-by-Step Process
Step 1: Navigate to Items
Go to Masters → Items.
Search for the required item or click + NEW to create a new item.

Step 2: Edit or Create Item
If creating a new item:
Enter Item Code, Item Name, Item Group, Item Type, etc.
Select the UOM (mandatory if the Item Group has no default UOM).

If editing an existing item:
Open the item record.
Go to the Unit field and update the UOM from the dropdown list (e.g., pieces, kg, meter, litres, etc.).

Step 3: Save the Item
Click Submit to save the changes.
The updated UOM will now become the Primary Unit for this item.
The system will also auto-update the Alt Unit tab with the new UOM as the primary unit.
📌 Notes
If the Item Group UOM is changed later, it will not overwrite the UOM of already existing items.
Users can create a group with or without a UOM, but during item creation UOM selection is mandatory.
✅ With these steps, users can manage UOM at item level easily, reducing errors during integration and avoiding unnecessary group creation.
