What is the difference between a Primary Key and Secondary Key in a sticker template?

When setting up a sticker template in ManufApp, you’ll define how the code is generated using keys:

  • The Primary Key is the main piece of information that identifies the object. For example, this could be the Item Name, Lot ID, or Work Order.

  • The Secondary Keys are additional values that provide more context, such as the Customer Code, Shift, or Machine.

These fields are automatically combined using a separator (like / or -) and then encoded into the barcode or QR code.

 Example:
If the primary key is Item Name and the secondary keys are Work Order and Customer Code, your final code might look like:
ItemName/WO123/Customer456

This structure ensures that each sticker is uniquely informative and scannable, making tracking easier across departments.
