Partial Outward of Material

Partial Outward of Material

1. Overview

The Partial Outward of Material feature allows users to issue only part of the requested quantity from the store against a raised request, with the system automatically creating a new Material Issue Note for the remaining quantity.

This enhancement ensures flexibility in material issuance, avoids operational delays, and provides better control over stock movement.

Availability: Enabled across all units for Outward Requests in Inventory → Outward.

2. Problem Statement

Previously, users could only issue the entire requested quantity at once. This created problems when:

  • Only partial stock was available in the store.

  • Production required material in batches instead of full quantity at once.

  • Urgent jobs needed partial fulfillment before the rest of the stock was ready.

Impact:

  • Forced delays in issuing available stock until full quantity was ready.

  • Inefficient stock movement and longer lead times.

  • Reduced flexibility in responding to urgent production needs.

3. What’s New

3.1 Split Request Option

  • New "Split Request" button on Material Issue Requests.

  • Opens a Partial Outward screen to enter the quantity to issue.

3.2 Dual UOM Entry

  • Users can specify issue quantity in both primary (e.g., pieces) and alternate UOM (e.g., kg).

3.3 Auto-Creation of New Material Issue Note

  • When a partial quantity is issued:

    • The entered quantity is issued under a new Material Issue Note.

    • The remaining quantity stays with the original request for future issuance.

3.4 Remaining Quantity Tracking

  • The system updates the Remaining Quantity field for transparency.

  • All quantities are visible in both UOMs for accuracy.

4. Key Benefits

Faster material issuance — no need to wait for full stock availability.
Flexibility — issue material in batches based on urgency or availability.
Improved production continuity — start work without delays.
Better stock control — system tracks issued and remaining quantities separately.
Accuracy — dual UOM ensures correct quantity tracking.
