How Tool Usage Multiplier Works in ManufApp

How Tool Usage Multiplier Works in ManufApp

Q1. What is a Tool Usage Multiplier?
The Tool Usage Multiplier represents how much a tool is consumed per item produced. Since many tools (like moulds, cutters, or dies) can produce multiple items in a single stroke, the multiplier ensures tool usage is tracked accurately. A lower multiplier means the tool lasts longer because more items are produced per stroke.

Q2. How is Tool Usage Multiplier calculated?
The formula is:
Tool Usage Multiplier = 1 รท (Number of items produced in each stroke)

For example:

  • If a mould has 2 cavities, each stroke makes 2 items โ†’ Multiplier = 1/2 = 0.5.

  • If a mould has 32 cavities, each stroke makes 32 items โ†’ Multiplier = 1/32 = 0.03125.

This way, ManufApp automatically adjusts tool usage based on production volume.
