How to Add a Cycle Time Rule in ManufApp

Cycle Time Rules help define how long a process takes on a specific machine for a group of items.
 They are essential for accurate planning, machine load calculation, and overall production efficiency.

Step 1: Go to Items Master

Navigate to:
 Masters > Items



Step 2: Search and Select the Item

Search for the item you want to configure.
 📌 Example: ITEM00018

Click on the item name to open its detail view.




Step 3: Open the Rules/Tools Tab

On the item detail page, go to the Rules/Tools tab.
 If no rules exist yet, you’ll see:

  • Rules not available

  • Tools not available

Click Add Rule to begin.




Step 4: Add New Cycle Time Rule

Fill in the following details in the popup:

  • Machine Group – e.g., SO MACHINE, CNC

  • Item Group Tag – e.g., SO_GROUP

  • Process – e.g., BORING, BROACHING

  • Seconds – Total time in seconds (e.g., 60 for 1 minute)

Click Submit to save.


Step 5: Edit If Required

You can always go back and edit the cycle time rule.
 Click the ✏️ icon next to the rule, make your changes, and hit Submit again.


Step 6: View Active Rules

Once submitted, the rule appears in the list showing:

  • Machine

  • Item Group

  • Process

  • Value (Cycle Time)

  • Option to Link Tool

You’ve now added a cycle time rule. This ensures your operations run with accurate machine timings and helps ManufApp plan production more effectively.
