How BOM Divisor Works in ManufApp

How BOM Divisor Works in ManufApp

📍 Objective:

To efficiently manage multi-level Bills of Materials (BOM) using the BOM Divisor, ensuring proper quantity calculations for Finished Goods (FG), Work in Progress (WIP), and Raw Materials (RM).

Step 1: Go to Items Master

  • Navigate to: Masters → Items

  • Select the FG Item (e.g., ITEM00018) for which you will define the BOM.

Step 2: Click on “Add BOM”

  • Open the FG item detail page.

  • Click on “Add BOM” from the top-right section to begin defining the components (WIP, RM).

Step 3: Set BOM Divisor

  • In the BOM setup page, set BOM Divisor = 1 (if you are defining for 1 unit of FG). This will calculate per unit of finished product.

Step 4: Add WIP Items

  1. Select the first WIP (e.g., WIP_10244) for FG.

  2. Set the quantity = 1 and BOM Divisor = 1 (this means 1 WIP per FG).

  1. Click + Add Child to add another WIP item.

  2. Select the second WIP (e.g., WIP_1025).

Step 5: Automatic RM Pulling

  • When you add WIP_1025, the system automatically pulls the RM from the pre-defined BOM of that WIP.

  • Do not edit RM quantities here in the FG BOM.

Step 6: Finalize BOM

  • After adding all WIPs and RMs, click Save BOM

Step 7: BOM Created Notification

  • Once the BOM is successfully created, you will receive a notification indicating BOM created successfully.

Step 8: Verify BOM in Item Master

  • After the BOM is created, go back to Masters → Items.

  • You will see the item (ITEM00018) now has a green checkmark (indicating that the BOM is successfully created and associated with this item).

  • This visual cue confirms that the BOM setup is complete and linked to the correct item in the system.

🔑 Key Benefits of Using BOM Divisor:

  1. Accurate material consumption per unit.

  2. Eliminates decimal issues with material quantities.

  3. Ensures clean and scalable BOM structures for complex manufacturing processes.

  4. Automates material requirements for batch production and multiple WIPs.
