🆕 Feature Release: IQC Sampling for Tagged Items

🆕 Feature Release: IQC Sampling for Tagged Items

1. Overview

The IQC Sampling feature enables quality teams to inspect only a calculated sample size from large batches, instead of checking every item.
Sampling logic is auto-calculated based on batch size and configured rules, helping teams make faster QC decisions while maintaining quality standards.

Availability: Enabled for all tagged items/groups in Quality → Critical To Quality.

2. Problem Statement

Previously, IQC required manual inspection of every item in a batch, which was:

  • Impractical for large batch sizes.

  • Time-consuming, delaying material release to production.

  • Resource-intensive, requiring significant QC manpower.

There was no system-controlled sampling method, forcing ad-hoc decisions and risking inconsistent QC practices.

3. What’s New

3.1 Sampling-Based IQC

  • Sampling quantity is automatically calculated based on batch size and predefined sampling rules.

  • Rules can be configured in master settings per item or item group.

3.2 Sampling Logic

  • If all samples pass: The entire batch is accepted without further inspection.

  • If any sample fails: The remaining batch quantity is opened for detailed QC.

3.3 Configurable Sampling Levels

  • QC admins can define Batch Min, Batch Max, and Sampling Quantity ranges.

  • Sampling levels can be tagged to specific items, item groups, RM groups, or WIP groups.

3.4 Real-Time Pass/Fail Handling

  • The system dynamically updates inspection status based on sample results.

  • Failure messages clearly indicate the quantity requiring full inspection.

4. Key Benefits

Reduced QC time for large batches.
Standardized inspection process with pre-defined rules.
Faster material clearance for production use.
Efficient resource utilization by focusing inspection efforts.
Flexible configuration for different product categories.

5. Access Path

Navigation:

  1. Quality → Critical To Quality → Set Sampling Levels

  2. Define sampling rules for the selected item/group.

  3. On GRN inspection, the system auto-calculates sample size and guides inspection flow.
