🆕 Feature Release: Alternate Unit Mapping Across Modules

🆕 Feature Release: Alternate Unit Mapping Across Modules

1. Overview

The new Alternate Unit Mapping feature in ManufApp provides dual unit of measurement (UOM) visibility — such as pieces, kg, dozen — across multiple modules.
This ensures consistent, accurate tracking of quantities for procurement, production, subcontracting, and dispatch.
No more manual conversions or cross-checking between departments — the system now shows both primary and alternate UOMs side-by-side.

Availability: Enabled company-wide; visible wherever relevant UOM data is displayed.

2. Problem Statement

Before this release, users faced challenges due to:

  • Lack of consistent alternate UOM visibility in key modules like Sales Orders, MRP, Subcontracting, Receipt Schedule, and Dispatch Schedule.

  • Manual conversions leading to errors and mismatches in tracking requested, dispatched, received, and remaining quantities.

  • Delays in production planning and inventory reconciliation due to missing dual-UOM data.

  • Misalignment between procurement, production, and dispatch teams when interpreting quantities.

This resulted in slower decisions, higher risk of miscounts, and reduced operational efficiency.

3. What’s New

3.1 Sales Order

  • Ordered Qty, Booked Qty, To Produce now display both primary & alternate UOMs for each item and at totals.

3.2 Material Resource Planning (MRP)

  • Gross Demand, Fulfillable from Inventory, To Produce columns now show dual UOMs.

  • Totals reflect base + alternate units for instant clarity.

3.3 Subcontracting Orders

  • Item View and Totals updated to display primary & alternate UOMs for issued and received quantities.

3.4 Receipt Schedule

  • List View, Card View, and Summary View now show dual UOMs for requested, received, and remaining quantities.

3.5 Dispatch Schedule

  • List View, Card View, and Summary View updated for primary & alternate UOM visibility on requested, dispatched, and remaining quantities.

4. Key Benefits

Eliminates manual conversions — reducing errors and saving time
Consistent visibility across procurement, production, and dispatch modules
Improved planning accuracy with instant access to both UOMs
Better cross-department alignment for smoother operations
